Community Work

Barny has been the director of his Cookery School for a over a decade, first at Quartier Vert and Bordeaux Quay, and now a Community Interest Company,  Square Food Foundation in Knowle West, Bristol.

All profits from the Cookery School go into a community food education fund to benefit schools, charities, and community groups.

Square Food Foundation are currently working with the following charities:

One25

One25 is a Bristol charity which ‘reaches out to women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction.’ Square Food runs monthly three hour sessions for up to seven women.

Milestones Trust

Milestones Trust is a charity which offers support services for vulnerable people and runs 50 residential care homes in and around Bristol. Square Food has been appointed as ‘partner’ to help deliver the Milestone Trust’s good food mission for all residents and service users and also to help improve the food provision and catering in their residential care homes.

BADSS

Bristol Area Down Syndrome Support aim to enhance the lives of people with Downs Syndrome, their families and care givers. The charity has monthly sessions at the Square Food Foundation.
